About MAIRSINN
MAIRSINN is a charity in Dundee, Scotland. We exist to provide a highly confidential support service to anyone who has experienced ritual or ritualised abuse, or who has experienced childhood trauma resulting in a dissociative condition
In addition to providing support we work to increase awareness of ritual abuse and dissociation with policy makers, statutory bodies and other third sector agencies

Ritual or ritualised abuse is abuse which follows any kind of pattern. It sometimes but not always follows a belief pattern or involves multiple perpetrators

Dissociation and dissociative conditions including DID are understood to be a result of trauma in childhood. The impact ranges from extremely debilitating to well-manageable

The Value of a Specialised Service
MAIRSINN SupportMany survivors will have encountered difficulties in accessing support. Non specialised services may have difficulty believing the survivor and separating real experiences from perceived mental health problems
For those that do believe the reality - the sudden awareness of RA or dissociation can be difficult for the support person that previously had no knowledge of this type of abuse RANS carefully vets and trains every support volunteer so that they are equipped to safely offer a quality support service to survivors |
